Last weekend I took a trip down to Virginia Beach for the Ring of Fire Convention in Virginia Beach to check out some amazing sci fi novelists, play some awesome games, and to check out the fantastic cosplayers. Katsu “Kaxyou” con 2018 Review TL;DR 3/10 There were good photos and good times, but the event has far outgrown the venue. In addition to the overcrowding, general staff, both con and hotel, were poor with attitudes as well as line management to quell the raging influx of attendees. Neko “Oh, Saturday was good” Con Review TL;DR 5.2/10 An impressive Saturday and a two-liter bottle of lemonade couldn’t save this con from being pretty disastrous overall. It felt that I was perpetually busy, even though booking was much more lax than previous years. Anime Mid Atlantic “New Age, New Place” Con Review TL;DR 8.6/10 Miss me with all the drama, this con was pretty great.
