Last weekend I took a trip down to Virginia Beach for the Ring of Fire Convention in Virginia Beach to check out some amazing sci fi novelists, play some awesome games, and to check out the fantastic cosplayers.
Started out checking out some of the tables, where indie author Michael Thompson was promoting one of his latest books, World of the Orb, and I couldn't pass up the chance to get a shot of Erik (Casual Assassin Cosplay) in his black mage cosplay with the 'famous orb'
Upon checking out the dealers room, I found a selection of Japanese treats, anime DVDs, full tang swords, and apparel. I had to say hello to Raksmey (AutumnVirus Cosplay) as well.
Nights were amazingly fun, simply hanging out with friends, whether it was jamming so hard to Rock Band 4 that I broke a pair of drumsticks (rip), or singing 'Fighting Dreamers' from Naruto in the lobby at the top of our lungs. It was great.
Of course, in the end, it is all about friendship and community. That's what truly made this an excellent experience. Be sure to check out the con review as well!!
